EFT Script: I *Should* Be Writing

SET-UP STATEMENT

Karate Chop Even though I should be writing right now, I’m not. I love and accept myself anyway.

Even though I should be writing, I haven’t made it a priority and I feel guilty about this, I accept who I am and how I feel about this.

Even though I SHOULD be writing, and I’m wasting precious time, I love and accept myself anyway.

CURRENT ‘TRUTHS’

Eyebrow I should be writing

Side of Eye But my mind is not focussed enough

Under Eye I should be writing but I’m not

Under Nose Now I feel overwhelmed with all this stuff I have to do

Chin Everything takes too long

Collarbone Writing is so important to me

Under Arm I feel so pressured

Thumb I should be writing

Index Finger I’m wasting my precious writing time

Middle Finger Writing is obviously not my priority

Ring Finger I should be writing right now

Little Finger I should be writing right now

Eyebrow I still feel annoyed that I’m not writing yet

Side of Eye I’m annoyed with myself

Under Eye Why aren’t I writing?

Under Nose I wish I could make writing a priority

Chin I should be writing right now

Collarbone Writing is important to me

Under Arm If it’s so important, why aren’t I doing it?

Thumb I should be grateful for the time I have. I should be writing right now

Index Finger Why aren’t I writing?

Middle Finger What am I scared of?

Ring Finger Why aren’t I writing?

Little Finger I should be writing

Shut your eyes, place your hand over your heart and take a deep breath into your diaphragm.

  • How are you feeling?
  • Say the opening statement of ‘I should be writing’. How true does that feel now?
  • If it still feels true, do the round again or simply use the reminder phrase “I should be writing” on all of the points.
  • When you feel ready, progress onto the new empowering truths.

 

POSTIVE REFRAME -  NEW EMPOWERING TRUTHS

Karate Chop: Even though I still feel like I should be writing right now, I choose to know that I can write whenever I feel like it.

I choose to give myself permission to write, and find the right time for writing and know that I deserve to follow my own dreams.

I choose to be amazed at how creatively I can be in finding the right time to write, when I’m totally in the zone because I love writing.

And for this knowledge, I love and accept myself deeply and completely.

Eyebrow Writing is important to me and I want make time for it

Side of Eye I wonder what I could do to find the right time to write?

Under Eye I choose to write when I feel inspired

Under Nose My writing time is precious but I choose to relax about it

Chin I can let go of some of this guilt

Collarbone I can let go of the feeling that I ‘should’ be writing

Under Arm I choose to feel easy about writing

Thumb I’m looking forward to writing

Index Finger I give myself permission to find the perfect time to write.

Middle Finger I have the FULL permission

Ring Finger Writing makes me feel good

Little Finger I love writing.

Eyebrow I choose to be amazed at how I find the right time to write.

Side of Eye Feeling inspired to write is important

Under Eye I love to feel inspired, it feels amazing

Under Nose I can let go of the guilt, it has no purpose

Chin I can let go of the guilt

Collarbone Writing is important to me

Under Arm I allow writing to be an important part of my life.

Thumb I choose to be easy about writing

Index Finger I can be relaxed about my writing

Middle Finger I give myself permission to find the perfect time to write

Ring Finger I love being in the creative flow

Little Finger I love writing
